The Role: Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

As CTO, you’ll lead the architecture and development of our scalable hiring platform. You’ll define the technical vision, build and mentor a talented team, and implement systems that support real-time data, secure processing, AI integration, and global scaling.

What We’re Building:

We’ve laid a strong foundation. To date, we’ve:

  • Completed extensive UI/UX work in Figma—over 550 pages, half of which are unique across 6 user dashboards.

  • Conducted technical feasibility tests using Builder.io.

  • Built the full company website.

  • Assembled a small technical team.

Development is actively underway, and we’re leveraging the following technology stack:

Tech Stack (In Use or Planned):

  • Frontend: React, Builder.io, Storybook
  • Backend: Next.js (React backend framework), Node.js microservices (Dockerized)
  • Middleware & APIs: JWT-based authentication, JSON-based API layer
  • Authentication & Access: Secure session management using modern auth tools (e.g., Better-Auth)
  • Messaging & Video Conferencing: Twilio
  • AI Integration: OpenAI API, LangChain (AI-enhanced workflows and automation)
  • Database & ORM: PostgreSQL with a modern ORM (e.g., Drizzle)
  • Logging & Monitoring: Elastic tooling and real-time diagnostics
  • Cloud & DevOps: AWS infrastructure, Docker, Kubernetes for orchestration
  • Payments: Integrated Visa card billing for e-commerce features

What You’ll be doing:

As CTO, you will:

  • Lead the technical strategy and system architecture

  • Translate Figma designs into scalable, high-performance code

  • Define and enforce development workflows, tooling, and quality standards

  • Build a collaborative, high-output technical team

  • Integrate AI to power intelligent features and streamline development

  • Ensure best practices in CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and defect management

  • Drive infrastructure decisions, including container orchestration and cloud deployment

  • Build critical platform components: real-time notifications, logging, permissions, and more

  • Implement scalable solutions for messaging, payments, and user interaction across devices

Core Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership & Vision

  • Set and evolve the technical vision and architecture

  • Use AI to build intelligent, scalable systems

  • Ensure platform security, scalability, and innovation

Development Execution

  • Convert complex Figma designs into high-quality code

  • Implement CI/CD pipelines for continuous, stable releases

  • Own and deliver mission-critical system components

Team Building & Management

  • Hire and lead a world-class technical team

  • Create a culture of quality, agility, and innovation

  • Set engineering standards and manage workflows

AI & Process Optimization

  • Leverage OpenAI and LangChain to enhance functionality

  • Develop strategies for continuous AI training and deployment

Monitoring & Metrics

    • Implement DORA metrics to measure and improve engineering effectiveness

You’ll Thrive in This Role If You Have:

  • Proven experience as a CTO or senior technical leader (ideally at a startup)

  • Strong full-stack background with technologies like React, Node.js, Next.js, etc.

  • Familiarity with or interest in Builder.io, Storybook, LangChain, and containerization

  • Experience leading development teams from concept to launch

  • Passion for building secure, scalable, and intelligent platforms

  • Experience working with AI, APIs, and real-time applications

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in global hiring, immigration, or international job platforms

  • RCIC or immigration technology exposure

  • Past experience working with multi-regional or multi-tenant systems

  • Experience working internationally

Compensation Structure Options:

Option 1: Equity-Only (Pre-Funding Phase):

  • Initial 4–6 months will be equity-only

  • Equity to be negotiated based on role, experience and commitment

Option 2: Post-Funding Salary + Retroactive Compensation:

  • Once funding is secured (expected within 4–6 months):

    • Retroactive salary: $6,000–$13,000/month (based on negotiated rate)

    • Equity will adjust based on salary structure

  • Ongoing salary will align with startup norms and funding level
