Join Our Team

We hire bright, driven people who want to make a big impact! We are committed to building a top-notch team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. The more inclusive we are, the better our outcomes and work will be.

The Role: Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

As our CTO, you’ll lead the development of a robust hiring platform from concept to execution. You will refine and execute our technical vision, optimize workflows for value delivery, and build a motivated technical team to deliver on our ambitious goals.

What We’re Building:

Our platform is designed to revolutionize the hiring process. To date, we have focused on designing robust customer journeys using Figma, resulting in over 550 pages (half unique) across six user dashboards. These designs serve as a comprehensive roadmap for user interactions.

While no code has been written, we’ve:

  • Conducted successful technical feasibility tests using Builder.io.
  • Built a completed website.
  • Assembled a small development team, including two part-time interns.

As CTO, you will take ownership of the platform’s technical architecture, tooling decisions, and development processes. You’ll leverage AI to streamline workflows, optimize processes, enhance platform functionality, and build a robust system that transforms the vision into a reality.

What You’ll be doing:

We’re starting from a clean slate. Beyond investing in Figma designs, all decisions about tooling, processes, and technologies will be led by the CTO to select the most effective systems and workflows for a structured, collaborative, and innovation-driven approach.

You will:

  • Own the technical strategy and architecture, using AI to enhance workflows, improve processes, and develop a secure, scalable platform.
  • Convert detailed Figma designs into functional, scalable code using modern tools.
  • Establish development workflows, coding standards, and defect management protocols.
  • Architect critical system components such as security, real-time logging, and notifications.
  • Build and lead a collaborative technical team, including onboarding and managing talent.
  • Leverage AI to streamline workflows, enhance user experience, and optimize processes.
  • Implement best practices in testing, repository management, CI/CD pipelines, and scalability.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership and Vision

    • Define and implement the technical vision, architecture, and strategy for the platform.
    • Lead the development of a scalable, secure, and innovative hiring platform from concept to launch.
  • Development and Delivery

    • Oversee the conversion of detailed Figma designs into functional code.
    • Establish CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous progress and frequent, high-quality releases.
    • Ensure the platform adheres to the highest standards of performance, security, and adaptability.
  • Team Building and Management

    • Lead, mentor, and expand the technical team, fostering a collaborative and execution-driven culture.
    • Set coding standards, enforce workflows, and oversee documentation and defect management.
  • AI Integration and Workflow Optimization

    • Leverage AI tools to streamline workflows, enhance the user experience, and optimize platform functionality.
    • Develop and implement strategies for continuous AI model training and improvement.
  • Critical System Development

    • Architect and oversee critical components, including security, notifications, real-time logging, permissions, and infrastructure optimization.
    • Design high-performance systems that support real-time data processing and scale effectively.
  • Metric-Driven Improvement

    • Implement and track development effectiveness metrics, such as DORA, to ensure continuous delivery of value to users.
Other Responsibilities:
  1. Stakeholder Collaboration

    • Work closely with the CEO, Product Manager, and other stakeholders to align technical goals with business objectives.
    • Communicate technical progress and challenges effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
  2. Technology Stack Selection

    • Evaluate and select modern tools and technologies (e.g., Vue, Svelte, SvelteKit, Storybook) to drive efficiency and innovation.
  3. Development Process Optimization

    • Establish best practices for repository management, unit testing, and atomic deployments.
    • Streamline processes for component testing and isolation using tools like Storybook.
  4. Risk Management and Problem Solving

    • Proactively identify technical risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
    • Troubleshoot complex technical challenges, ensuring timely and effective resolutions.
  5. Future-Proofing the Platform

    • Research and integrate emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
    • Ensure the platform is built with scalability and adaptability for future feature enhancements.
  6. Budget and Resource Management

    • Optimize resource allocation for development priorities.
    • Balance technical investments with available funding, ensuring efficient use of resources during the pre-funding phase.

We’d Love To Hear From You If You Have:

  • Proven experience as a CTO or senior technical leader, ideally in a startup environment.
  • Expertise in modern frameworks and tools such as Vue, Svelte, SvelteKit, React, Storybook, or similar.
  • Strong leadership skills with a collaborative and execution-driven approach.
  • Knowledge of software development workflows, coding standards, and system architecture.
  • A forward-thinking mindset focused on scalability, security, and user experience.

We strongly encourage those who have some experience with:

  • Knowledge of the international job seeker/hiring marketplace
  • RCIC experience
  • Experience with working internationally

Compensation Structure Options:

Option 1: Equity-Only Offering:

  • During the initial 4–6 months (pre-funding), the successful candidate will receive equity-only compensation.

Option 2: Post-Funding Retroactive Salary and Compensation:

  • Once funding is secured (expected within 4–6 months):
    • Retroactive salary for the pre-funding period will be between $6,000–$13,000 monthly (to be negotiated). Equity compensation will adjust based on the agreed salary structure post-funding.

Post-Funding Salary:

  • Compensation will align with industry norms and depend on the funding secured.
